Volunteer

B arts and the Etruria Canals Festival Group are always keen to work with new volunteers in the lead up to and during the event! There are lots of ways to support the event and volunteer from helping us plan activity, promote the event, or take on a stewarding role across the weekend.

If you’d like to volunteer with us please do get in touch so we can find something that matches your skills and interests!

The event is run by a volunteer steering group who in 2016 started working with local arts organisation B arts to help run the festival.

This year we are keen to use the event to provide experience and development opportunities for community volunteers alongside the event.

The opportunity would be useful for people who’d like to get an overview of running an event of this kind or those who want to develop their experience in a particular area for example generating online content, engaging the media or organising a performance programme.

We have a small budget to support volunteers to take part (for example pay their travel) and also to pay for volunteers to attend training relevant to them.

We are looking for all sorts of volunteers from people who could get involved regularly in the lead up to the event to those who have a few hours to spare over the weekend itself.

For an informal chat about being part of this years’ event please contact Rebecca at B arts on 01782 848835 or 07557 797695,

rebecca.frankenberg@b-arts.org.uk

We’ll also be hosting an informal get together for those interested in volunteering date and time TBC

*The festival group currently includes representatives from Etruria Industrial Museum and Jesse Shirley’s Bone and Flint Mill (who run tours and steaming as part of the event), The Etruria Boat Group (who run the historic boat gathering at the heart of the event), Etruria Artists who run clay workshops and local community members.
