The steering group is made up of representatives from Etruria Boat Group, Etruria Artists, Etruria Industrial Museum and Shirley’s Bone and Flint Mill Volunteers as well as local residents.

In 2019 these were:
Arts Council England
Stoke-On-Trent City Council
and Appetite Stoke
The festival has previously been supported by Awards for All
Councillor Majid Kahn
Councillor Alastair Watson
Tristram Hunt MP
In 2016 Etruria Boat Group has also received a Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) Sharing Heritage grant to run an exciting project, ‘Brindley 300 in North Staffordshire’, a James Brindley 300th Anniversary Project. The project brought to life heritage material about the canal pioneer’s life and achievements through the creation of original music and performances and the production of an illustrated trail showing the places in North Staffordshire that help to tell Brindley’s story. Copies of the trail will be given out at this year’s festival.
